Hike to Caillet

Let yourself be transported to the small chalet of Caillet on the historic path leading to the Mer de Glace.

Start from the Biollay car park near the Montenvers train station. Head up towards the Les Planards amusement park then take the 4x4 track. At the junction, head right towards Montenvers via Caillet. Take the footpath through the woods and cross the railway line. The path winds upwards and then across to bring you to the Chalet de Caillet (1,590 m) in about 1.5 hours.

Leave your car in the car park and continue on foot, bearing left. Go past the farms and take the forest path on your right. After the third bend, cross the 4x4 track and continue along the footpath up to the chalet. An hour and a half's walk.

From the Mer de Glace: take the path that starts behind the Glaciorium next to Hôtel du Montenvers. It'll take an hour to reach the chalet.
